EMMA HOAREAU, the wonderlusting travel, beauty and lifestyle guru is our current Missoma Muse of the Moment and we are obsessed by her blog LOLITA SAYS SO. Born in Paris, marinated in the lights of Leeds university and now mingles with the best of them in Sydney's Boni Beach. Her blog, Lolita Says So was started whilst studying and is a stream of constantly flawless and authentic dreamlike imagery and honest opinions. As with her blog, a go to haven for beauty, lifestyle and travel tips, her instagram feed too is not to be missed. We dare you not to fall for her whimsical stream of content.
After graduating, she worked as the Beauty Editor for Notion Magazine before moving to the warmer shores of Bondi Beach, Sydney. As a self-confessed beauty geek, working at Notion served to heighten her love for skincare and allround physical and mental wellbeing. Our go-to-gal for all things skincare. Emma’s complexion is testament to routine and looking after her skin. Flawlessly simple make up leaves Emma looking consistently beautiful without layers of make-up. Emma has talked about how ‘Growing up in Paris meant that I (she) was surrounded by that same kind of attitude towards beauty, where all you ever needed was a swipe of red lipstick and you were ready to go’. Emma describes herself as a girl who is telling a story across the digital sphere with her camera is one hand, passport in the other.

3 things I can’t live without
My camera, my passport and sunshine.
My top skincare tips
Always wash your makeup off! Even if you have the best products there’s no point using them until your skin is properly clean and ready to receive product. Another top tip is to use eye cream, I started using it day and night about a year ago – prevention is better, and easier than correction after all…
At the moment, my favourite products are…
I recently discovered the Thermal Cleansing Balm from Omorovicza, it removes makeup so gently and is great for giving myself a facial massage in the process. Skincare wise, Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentreé, Charlottle Tilbury Magic Cream and Sisley Express Flower Gel mask are my go-to’s for glowing skin. In terms of perfume, I’ve been wearing Jo Malone Dark Amber and Ginger Lily for a couple years, but I love layering it with a couple other favourite scents from Diptyque, Bella Freud and The Ayu. In terms of make up, I can’t say no to a Tom Ford lipstick, they wear so well and can make any tired face full of life again!
What I’ve learned from travelling
That I never want to stop! The feeling of discovering a new place (whether, it’s a city, beach or entire country) is such a magical experience. As a photographer, I love noticing the smaller details in different places, and focusing on these. I’ve also learnt that I can pack the most incredible amount of stuff into just one bag!
My travel packing list
I’d like to say I’m really great at packing and very minimal with my choices, but really I find it very hard to know what I’ll want/need to wear, especially if I’m visiting several places in one trip. I tend to stick to basics in terms of clothes and mix it up with the details; a red lipstick or great pair of earrings can totally change the way a plain t-shirt looks. Small additions like those make all the difference when there’s limited space in that suitcase.
