If you follow Missoma on Instagram (shame on you if not - DO IT NOW!) you will have seen that we... Marisa (Founder & Creative Director) and I, Kate (Marketing Manager).. hopped on a plane to Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago. Cue torrential rain.
Having admired from afar... we wanted to catch up in person with Eva Cliteur. Amsterdam's newest and youngest hot property. Eva is one of those COOL KIDS OF INSTAGRAM. Her photos are less... 'this is what i'm wearing today'... and more... 'DANG YOU LOOK COOL WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING'. With photos going viral all over the shop, and along with her sister Claire Cliteur, they make quite the enviable pair.
Not only was she a total honey, she showed us her Amsterdam.. including her favourite coffee shops (no not that kind!!), florists and even at the end of the day took us to the most ridiculous chip-shops delivering an array of delicious dips.
In her own words... here is Eva's guide to Amsterdam.
I love George. It is a restaurant with a French touch and for a little moment I feel like I’m in Nice or Monaco – despite the rainy weather here. The menu is simple, but good and the crowd is classy. The Tuna Pizza is my favourite, I’m a sucker for everything which involves chees, dough and tuna.
GERDA’S FLOWERS IN THE 9 STRAATJES
Always when I travel back to the south of the Netherlands (where I come from) I buy my mother flowers. This flower shop is the prettiest in town. If you enter you see the most beautiful and exotic plants and flowers everywhere: a little jungle in the middle of the city.
Are you looking for the best coffee in town? Don’t look any further. No one beats Libertine café. I always drink a decaf late macchiato and they totally rock it. The owner of Libertine café is the kindest man who knows exactly what his customers want. Do you want a cortado, cappuccino with your favourite kind of milk or a shot of espresso: your wish is his command. That’s exactly why I love to go there. Extra asset to Libertine: it’s located in a really nice street with lots of beautiful shops. So get your caffeine shot at Libertine to make sure you’ve enough energy to shop till you drop.
When I’m really hangover and really hungry, I go to the ‘Frietsteeg’ (translated: fries alley). After eating their fries you know where the expression ‘fries before guys’ comes from. Because really, hold on… their fries are the best in town! It’s a bit hidden, but in the middle of the city centre. It's nothing more than a counter with 3 hard working guys/girls behind it. They don’t have a place to sit down, but in the alley where it’s located you have a bench and some steps where you can sit and eat your fries - with the best choices of sauces you can imagine.
MASSIVE THANKS TO:
